Cate Desjardins, PhD

Cate Desjardins, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Social Work at Madonna University, where they are also the BSW Field Placement Director. Additionally, they maintain a small private practice doing individual and group psychotherapy, consultation, and supervision. Dr. Desjardins is an instructor at ICSW. They serve on the Master’s comprehensive exam committee, sit on Master’s case presentation panels, and contribute to ICSW’s continuing education programming. 

AREAS OF INTEREST & APPROACHES TO PRACTICE 

Relational psychoanalysis; gender diversity; psychoanalytic gender theory; clinical ethics; the interplay between intrapsychic phenomena and the external world.
