Myrna Orenstein, PhD, LCSW is an author and psychotherapist who earned her Ph.D. from the Institute for Clinical Social Work in Chicago and her Master’s degree in social work from the University of Chicago. Her book “Smart but Stuck: Resilience with Learning Disabilities", third edition, has also been translated into Chinese. Dr. Orenstein is a former instructor at Oakton Community College in Illinois. She is currently a supervisor and instruction with the Chinese American Psychoanalytic Association and an allied professional with the Association of Educational Therapists. She is on the advisory board of the Mental Health Association of the North Shore in Illinois, and has presented at conferences and conducted workshops and classes on resilience and on the emotional consequences of learning disabilities in adults.
