Carrie Torgerson, PhD, LCSW is the Associate Dean of Students and the Director of Student Counseling and Academic Support Services at Midwestern University, where she has been for 20 years. Carrie’s experience as a social worker and therapist developed a counseling center for students and expanded mental health, counseling services, and academic support services for students, including disability services. Prior to joining Midwestern University, Carrie has worked as a social worker inpatient and outpatient psychiatric at Hartgrove Hospital and MacNeal Hospital. At MacNeal hospital, she worked with adult patients seeking specialized treatment for self-injury.
