The Institute for Clinical Social Work (ICSW)

is pleased to announce that Silvia Amor Armas

is the 2022-2023 Social Service Scholar.

Silvia Amor Armas is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and incoming PhD student at Institute for Clinical Social Work.

She received her M.A. in Social Service Administration from the University of Chicago and B.S. in Psychology at the Illinois Institute of Technology. Silvia Amor has more than 6 years of experience in the mental health and social service field.

Over the past two years, she has worked extensively with clients with severe and complex attachment traumas; helping them build trusting relationships and resolve relational conflict with value-based behavior. She is most excited about psychodynamic and psychoanalytic theories, EMDR, and DNMS. Silvia Amor is currently working on a manuscript that explores the ramifications of trauma exposure during incarceration. Her most recent publication can be found in the journal of Death Studies, "To share or not to share? Evaluation of a strategic disclosure program for suicide attempt survivors".

When she is not working with clients or working on a manuscript, Silvia Amor enjoys recording episodes for her podcast, the Wounded Healer's Healing Space, aimed at resolving stagnant energies and promoting healing.

Please join us in congratulating Silvia Amor Armas at sarmas@icsw.edu.
