Ida Roldán, Ph.D., Interim Academic Dean.
President Stewart is pleased to announce that Dr. Ida Roldan has agreed to serve for the next six months in the role of interim academic dean. Dr. Roldan received her doctorate in philosophy in clinical social work from the Institute for Clinical Social Work and master's in social work from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
She was a fellow at the Chicago Psychoanalytic Institute and is a licensed clinical social worker. Dr. Roldan has held numerous professional positions, including the following: Academic Dean at the Institute for Clinical Social Work, Associate Director of Fillmore Center for Human Services, Therapist and Clinical Supervisor at Scholarship and Guidance Association, Clinical Consultant at Casa Central, Pedro Albizu Campos Alternative High School Cathedral Counseling, and RUSH University Medical Center.
Dr. Roldan has published in the areas of HIV/ AIDS, Puerto Rican Family's Experience with HIV/AIDS. and mentoring in qualitative research. In this position, Dr. Roldan will prioritize academic matters including faculty governance, recruitment, academic partnerships, and continuing education. Dr. Roldan and President Stewart will also work in collaboration with faculty and staff to identify the process for selecting the next academic dean.
